Agri-EPIs Data and Automation Lead to discuss challenges faced in Agricultural Robotics

Eliot Dixon, Data and Automation Lead at Agri-EPI Centre will be speaking to the AgriFoRwArdS community on Friday 18th June 2021 about the challenges that we face in agricultural robotics.

Join us on Zoom for what promises to be an interesting and engaging talk as part of the AgriFoRwArdS Seminar Series.

Title: An introduction to Agri-EPI Centre and the challenges faced in Agricultural Robotics

Abstract: Agricultural robotics has started to be adopted in commercial operations, however it is still far from being in general use with most systems being very sector- or even farm-specific. To gain greater reach and scalability this industry must increase knowledge sharing and the use of common platforms, tools, and standards. This talk will discuss some of the key technologies developed in other industries, for example automotive, which could be adopted by the UK agricultural robotics community to accelerate development and help solve some of the key challenges faced by UK agriculture. We will also take a look at the role of the Agri-EPI Centre including its facilities, services and previous work undertaken in robotics collaboration.

We operate an opt in policy for the Seminar Series, so if you would like to receive monthly invitations to the talks please emailĀ agriforwards-cdt@eng.cam.ac.uk.
