Dr Alan Millard
My research primarily focuses on the development and control of autonomous robot swarms and multi-robot systems. I am interested in the use of agri-robotic fleets (ground, aerial, or heterogeneous) for tasks such as soil health mapping, pest/disease detection, variable rate application, yield forecasting, and selective harvesting. I am also interested in engineering dependable fleets of robots that use fault detection, diagnosis, and recovery techniques to achieve long-term autonomy in dynamic and hazardous environments.
