What Napoleon Bonaparte can teach you about giving a scientific presentation
This is a seminar on how to present complicated scientific data to a general audience. Professor Sutton will first give a 30-45 minute seminar on the tricks and traps of presenting ones work, with a focus on the many ubiquitous mistakes that are made by people as they start a scientific career. After that the group will descend into a discussion over white boards about how to discuss and present the work of the attendees. If you have a specific part of your research that you find particularly difficult to talk about, please bring it, and we can workshop how best to convey this work.
